University Ambassador Application

Dear Prospective Ambassador,

We are so excited that you have chosen to apply to be a University Ambassador! The following information will be helpful as you complete the application.

Applications are due by 11:59 PM on Friday, September 18. Note that the application must be completed in one sitting.

Information Sessions

Ambassadors will be hosting information sessions to allow you to learn more about the application process and expectations of the organization. It is not required to attend, but it is a great opportunity to meet current University Ambassadors and have your questions answered.

Information Sessions will be hosted at these dates and times in the Welcome Center:

Monday, August 24, 5–6 PM
Thursday September 3, 5–6 PM
Wednesday, September 9, 5–6 PM
Tuesday, September 15, 5–6 PM

Applicant Requirements

Full-time undergraduate students who will have completed 24 credit hours by Spring of 2027
Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50
Must be eligible to work in the state of Missouri at Missouri State University
Attend monthly meetings on Thursdays at 4:00 PM.
Attend mandatory training retreats coordinated by the New Member Liaison

Application Process & Timeline

Selected applicants will be invited to participate in an interview. Applicants selected for an interview will receive an email by September 23 with instructions to select a 30-minute interview time slot. Interviews will be conducted on the following dates from 3–8 PM.

Following interviews, applicants will be notified whether they have been chosen as 2026 University Ambassadors by October 7.

New University Ambassadors will complete REQUIRED employment paperwork by Friday, October 30.

Acknowledgements

If selected to be a University Ambassador, I will adhere to the obligations of membership for the organization. These requirements include the following:

Each semester beginning Spring 2027, I must be available for at least one of the following tour times (tours last between 60 and 90 minutes): Weekdays at 9:45 AM, 10:45 AM, or 2:15 PM and/or Saturdays at 10:00 AM or 12:00 PM.*
I will attend Ambassador Meetings one Thursday a month at 4 PM unless an academic reason prohibits my attendance, in which case I will provide documentation to the executive board by the required deadline.
I will attend the required University Ambassador events: Fall Showcase(s) (mid-to-late semester), Spring Showcase (mid-to-late spring semester), New Ambassador Interviews (end of the fall semester), and New Member Retreat(s) (late fall semester/early spring semester), unless an academic requirement keeps me from attending. If that occurs, I will notify the executive board to request an excuse by the established deadline.
I will provide the REQUIRED employment documentation by October 30, and I understand that I will NOT be allowed to continue in University Ambassadors should I fail to do so. More information on acceptable documents will be provided to me later in the interview process.
